I just casually ended up on the 11ty website today while looking for a date problem i encountered on my site. Scrolling down all the way through that site is a list of latest blog posts about eleventy — a 11ty planet of sorts...
And there, I just found this post that helped fast-track building this notes site within minutes.
What I learned from this, essentially, is a new way of organising
blog content within an 11ty powered blog which I remember struggling
with in the past. And the solution was simpler than i could imagine
— just a simple permalink in notes.json! :D
"permalink": "/notes/{{ title | slugify }}/",
Realisation
Despite what you see on notes page, here's what is possible for me because of the above setup:
$ tree notes
notes
├── 2026
│ └── 02
│ └── 01
│ ├── 01.md
│ └── 02.md
└── notes.json
I am assuming I'll never be posting more than 99 posts in a day, and for setups where we do post more, just increase the 0-padding in the filenames to cover your scale.
